Most upper grade classes will do a tutorial on Microsoft Word.

Ms. Revier's class will start their Van Gogh projects.
Kindergarten classes will do alphabet and phonics activities using the Starfall website.
Ms. Bennett's class will learn how to do internet research.
Ms. Morita's and Ms. Link's classes will work on money and making change.
Mr. Gill's class will research coyotes.
Mrs. McKnight's class will visit Ellis Island.
Mr. John's class will practice spelling with SpellIt.
Ms. Cason's class will finish the Let's Go Learn assessments.

Ms. Buginas' class will work on multi-digit multiplication.
Ms. Link's class will visit the Plimoth Plantation.
Ms. Bennett's class will do social studies research.
Ms. Revier's class will start their California bird projects.
Ms. Koenig's class will work on their poetry.
Mrs. McKnight's class will practice counting coins with Harcourt Math.
Ms. Riedell's class will practice subtraction.
Mr. John's class will do SpellIt.

No school on Tuesday - parent/teacher conferences.

All 3 -6 grade students will practice typing.

Kindergarten students will do counting activities in the Harcourt math site.
Ms. Koenig's class will finish science activities. 4th graders will work on the metric sysem. 5th graders will practice division.
Ms. Ruff's and Ms. Riedell's classes will work on fact families.
Ms. Morita's and Mrs. McKnight's classes will learn about maps.

Week 8 - October 26

No kindergarten classes this week.

Update: internet's back!

Ms. Tobin's class will work on division of decimals with Harcourt: Exploring Division of Decimals and FunBrain: Power Football.
Ms. Henry's class will work on fractions and division with FunBrain: TicTacToe and FunBrain: Soccer Shootout.
Ms. Buginas' class will explore algebra activities.
Mr. Aiken's class will research their characters and finish their Native American reports.

Ms. Link's class will work on place value.
Ms. Revier's class will finish their bat worksheets.

Due to the power outage, there's currently no internet access in the computer lab. All classes will practice with typing instructor. We will spend the last half of computer lab trying the typing games.

Kindergarten classes come in this week. We'll finish our KidPix activities.

I'll be away on Friday so any 1 -3 grade teachers who want students to finish Let's Go Learn assessments should see me about a schedule.

All 4 - 6 grade classes will practice typing.

Ms. Henry's and Mr. Aiken's classes will listen to Native American languages.
Ms. Buginas' class will work on decimals.
Ms. Koenig's class will do science activities and research.
Ms. Goldbeck's class will practice multiplication facts.

No kindergarten classes this week.

Grades 1 -3 will be completing the Let's Go Learn Assessments.

Grades 4 -6 will practice typing for the first 20 minutes of lab time.

Week 3 - Sept 21

The kindergarten classes will be coming to the lab for the first time this week! Students will be practicing their mouse control by doing some simple KidPix art lessons.

Students in grades 1 - 3 will continue with the Let's Go Learn assessments. Once this part is done, students can continue to the games and activities.

The upper grade students will be starting typing lessons, 6th graders with TypingWeb.com and the rest with Typing Instructor. Everyone will also be working on math skill practice. Mr. Baum's class will be practicing mean, mode, and median with the links in the K-6 resource list. Ms. Tobin's class will be working on graphing on the Harcourt Math site. The 4th and 5th graders will be doing basic fact practice in FunBrain TicTacToe.

Week 2 -Sept 14

The computer lab is open to all classes this week! Parents - be sure to look for the computer lab signup sheet at Back to School Night.

Grades 4-6 will be practicing their word processing skills by writing poems based on their names. We will also be doing some math practice.

Grades 1-3 will start the assessments in Let's Go Learn. Once students have finished the assessments they can do activities and games based on their individual skills.

Kindergarten students will be doing some computer art activities designed to help them become familiar with using the mouse and controlling the computer.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back to school!

The computer lab will open this week to the 4th through 6th grade classes. Students will be practicing some basic word processing skills such as changing the font, size, and alignment of their text. We will also become familiar with Spell-It, a set of word games based on spelling lists.

I'm looking forward to a great year in the computer lab!
